Social Media Bootcamp
With so many advocates shouting from their cyber rooftops about social media’s virtues, it’s easy to forget that the vast majority of folks are still trying to figure out what the hype is all about - and what it means for them and their organizations.
To help you get a better understanding of social media and prepare for the inevitable changes it will bring about, SHRP has joined forces with the Social Media in Organizations (SMinOrgs) Community to offer a half-day workshop. Hosted by Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg (NGE), this workshop will be a bootcamp of sorts, providing attendees the opportunity to learn by doing – bring your laptop and experiment with different ideas as you hear about them!
When you leave bootcamp, you will
Better understand social media, including the different social networking platforms and their professional applications Recognize the importance of incorporating social media in your career development efforts
Know how to expand, enhance and manage your digital presence
Learn how to continue climbing the social media learning curve efficiently and effectively
Better recognize your professional responsibilities (and opportunities) with respect to the intra-organizational implications of social media
Understand the legal and policy issues associated with the effective management of social media
The session’s “drill sergeant” will be Courtney Hunt, principal at Renaissance Strategic Solutions and founder of the SMinOrgs Community. David Ritter, who chairs NGE’s Labor and Employment practice group, will lead the presentation on legal and policy issues.
Courtney Hunt is the founder and principal of Renaissance Strategic Solutions (RSS), a consultancy that helps organizations increase their effectiveness through the design and implementation of innovative and leading-edge human capital and communication strategies and programs.
