I initially became a member of SHRP to network with other HR professionals. Since being a member, I have found the connections and friendships with the members are most gratifying. I have also expanded my knowledge within HR and just recently passed the SPHR exam. Without the influence of SHRP, I may not have pursued the advanced certification.
I have been an HR/OD consultant in my own business for the past 4.5 years. Previously, I was the HR Director at Learning Curve International, an entrepreneurial toy company which from $19M to $160M. We took the company public through a merger; where I had a 'seat at the table' during the entire merger process. Prior to that, I was an HR Partner for Borders Group Inc.
I have my SPHR certification and am a graduate of DePaul University.
