House of Good Shepherd

A residence for abused women and their children. It is a safe and nurturing haven, which offers women and their children the opportunity to rebuild their lives. The comprehensive program includes counseling, a Learning Center where women work on their education and job goals, child care, and an Aftercare Program that promotes long-term recovery.

 

HGS immediate needs are for the mothers approaching the job market. We have presented 2 hour job search seminars for the women. SSP BPI donated job search workbooks to the House, some of which are in Spanish. We are scheduled monthly to meet with the women. The sessions are over the lunch time area and they are located near Wrigley Field.

 

If you can donate a few hours to give the women job tips on finding a job, let us know. We are looking for individuals who can assist the women with their resumes, interviewing skills and job search strategies. Materials are provided.
