In which membership category do I belong?

Regular memberships are granted to those regularly engaged in the profession of human resources or industrial relations, as practitioners and those who are teachers/professors of human resources or industrial relations at accredited colleges or universities.

Professional Service Provider Memberships are granted to professional service providers, which include consultants, vendors, attorneys and others who provide support services to the human resource profession.

Student Memberships are granted to those who are full or part time students; are studying for the purpose of obtaining a degree in human resources at an accredited college or university; and have no current or previous human resources working experience.

Transition Memberships are granted to those who are currently unemployed.

No, SHRP and SHRM Memberships are separate and you may be a member of one or either.

If I am a SHRM member am I automatically a local chapter member?

No, your local chapter membership is separate from SHRM Membership.
